The story

The mark is the old alchemical sign for Mercury: crescent, circle, cross. It started as a tattoo on our founder’s forearm, and it became our mark.

Mercury is the messenger, the god of thresholds, who carries words between worlds. In alchemy, it is the substance that joins opposites.

“As above, so below” is the short, later form of a line from the Emerald Tablet, a Hermetic text attributed to Hermes Trismegistus and known from Arabic versions. The old wording is “That which is above is like to that which is below.”

We started Daily Thinkers in October 2026 as one old line a day on TikTok, with the name and the year when it’s known, and the mark at the end. The shirts came after the lines. The line is older than the shirt.
